Dead Man's Bones (Ryan Gosling and Zach Shields) Announce First Tour
When Ryan Gosling and Zach Shields bring their Dead Man's Bones project to your town, they aren't coming alone. Oh no. On their very first tour, scheduled for this October, the actor/musician duo will bring the songs of their debut album to life with the help of a local choir in each of the twelve spots they're hitting. As Gosling and Shields explained to us, their self-titled debut (out October 6 on Anti-) was recorded with the Silverlake Conservatory Children's Choir. But they can't bring all those kids on the road with them. Hence, a new group in every city.
To make the experience even cooler, the opening act for the shows will be a talent show, organized by the band and featuring local talent in each city. Wow.
Dates below:
Dead Man's Bones:

Hear a New Track From Dead Man's Bones
This is quite possibly the weirdest thing you'll hear all day. Two Hollywood actors (Ryan Gosling and Zach Shields, aka Dead Man's Bones) recruit a group of kids ranging in age from five to 17 (the Silverlake Conservatory Children's Choir) to sing a dreamy, old-timey waltz about zombies. Much clapping and shouting ensues.
"My Body's a Zombie for You" will be included on Dead Man's Bones' self-titled debut album, out October 6 on Anti-. Take a listen below:

Dead Man's Bones (Ryan Gosling and Zach Shields) Sign to Anti-
Back in January, we introduced you to Dead Man's Bones, the goth-folk collaboration between actors Ryan Gosling and Zach Shields. Since then, only two of their charming, creepy songs have been made public, via a pair of self-created videos: "Name in Stone" and "In the Room Where You Sleep". Finally, this fall, everyone will get to hear more. On October 6, Anti- will release Dead Man's Bones' self-titled debut album. (It was previously titled Never Let a Lack of Talent Get You Down.)
In our interview with Gosling and Shields, the pair discussed the creation of the album, which was recorded with the Silverlake Conservatory Children's Choir, a group of Los Angeles-area kids ranging in age from five to 17. Gosling described the motivation behind the album's aesthetic: "You know when you're a kid and you get crayons and papers and just draw whatever you want and it's just a bunch of messy lines, but to you it makes sense, and then they put it on the fridge? From that point on, you're always trying to get back on the fridge, you start drawing things that look like something, like, the more it looks like a horse, the more chance you have of getting it on the fridge. We wanted to get back to that place before we were trying to make the fridge. We wanted to work with people who hadn't been affected in that way yet."
